As a member of the TTF (Timber Trade Federation) we are proud to be a part of this new Climate Change Exhibition.
We are delighted to announce the official launch of our online virtual exhibition Conversations about Climate Change.
In collaboration with the Building Centre, the exhibition focuses on tropical timber and provides a platform for much-needed conversations around responsible sourcing, sustainable forest management, the FLEGT Action Plan, climate change mitigation, and the timber industry for a low-carbon economy.
The exhibition will have 360-degree filming so you can virtually tour around each project, videos showcasing the designs, and interviews with the designers.
Six designs were chosen out of an incredible 100 entries from across the world. Each design selected provokes climate conversations in the lead up to COP26 in November 2021.
The winning entries are carved from tropical hardwoods that come from countries with VPA agreements in place, working towards FLEGT-licensing. They were supplied by TTF Members Brooks Bros, Morgan Timber, James Latham, Malaysian Timber Council, Mere Plantations, and Interholco/Danzer UK, to demonstrate and showcase the importance of this beautiful natural resource.
Throughout this exhibition, we hope this will educate and encourage designers, architects, specifiers, and retailers to appreciate the role of responsible sourcing from tropical countries and the impact of the FLEGT action plan in their procurement policies as timber is vital to growing our forests and combatting climate change.
We’ll be doing a lot more work about timber and its role in the climate change debate throughout the year ahead, but for now we’ll leave you to look through the images and stories of these designs
