Time once more to update and improve, rebrand and remodel. Out with the old and in with the new !!
Between the banking crisis of 2008 to 2013 and the complications of the “LEAVE" Brexit vote in 2016 which started pulling the UK out of Europe by 2020 Nicks enjoyed a solid period of trading but with over 60 % of UK timber imports coming from the EU and EU standards having been adopted on all building products for the past 30 years , and the total collapse of “ Plant Health “ in the UK with all inspection and grading being carried out at the producing Mills in Europe it was clear that the transition back to an independent nation would not be an easy one for the Timber Trade .
Once more Nicks would need to move with the times to continue to secure its position in this ever changing market. With a sales force of seven who have a combined working life experience of over 200 years in the trade there is not much we haven’t seen before although Covid was a new one !
The remodelling and investment started in the Shop and Trade Centre . New branding, new signs, new heating system, new internal refit , suspended ceiling with new lighting, and new branding on a new wagon would be just the start of six years of heavy investment to set Nicks up for the next 30 years !
