White Vancouver Glazed 4L Clear — a quality fire door available to order in as non stock from Nick's Timber Store, Fire doors are a legal requirement in certain locations within domestic properties, particularly between a garage and the living space, and in Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). They are designed to resist the spread of fire and smoke for a defined period — typically 30 minutes (FD30).
Important Fire Door Requirements
- Fire doors must be fitted with intumescent strips and cold smoke seals
- Use fire-rated hinges — minimum three hinges per door
- Fire doors must be fitted with a self-closing device in most applications
- Never modify a fire door without checking it remains compliant
- All fire doors should be certified to BS EN 1634-1
